A SWEET MEMORY OF IQRAM SIR

Of course, this world is full of surprises, amazing happenings, amazing history and amazing creatures but without the active presence of candid people, you can’t complete the story of world.  God has placed a billions of inspiring personalities in each corner of the world so that darken life path of remaining people can get enlighten. No doubt, these inspiring personalities have interfered in every field which is closed to human life and as a result, a lot of people could make their own ways. Education is one of the most needed aspects related with human life.  This field can shape entire life span of a person if she or he got right balancing in early days.

I feel lucky to have such a torch light in my middle education that is not only helping in my livelihood today but also blessed me with a difference from rest of the people. Yes, I am talking about the priceless efforts of my English teacher, the living legend for me, Mr. Mohammad Iqram Sir. I don’t have suitable words to describe his dedication to teach us.  I know that our parents introduce us to the world but a teacher introduces world to us. Iqram Sir took birth on 1st January 1939 in historical village Teari, district Sultanpur. He is the son of Mrs. Matiunnisan and Mr. Abrar Ahmad.

Fortunately, I got chance to become his student in 1980 in Public Junior High School, Teari, Sultanpur. At that time I was studying in class 8th. Really that was golden era and social environment was 100 times better than that of day. I recall those days when studies of students hampered owing to preparations of cultural programs for Independence Day or Republic Day and school management planned extra classes to cover the syllabus. Oh! What the level of dedication was.  Iqram Sir taught us grammar with such a loyal way.  Even in rains or winters, he ensured that his every student is having sufficient depth in understanding the grammar rules. In those days when modern education techniques were not possible even in dreams, Iqram Sir used direct imparting technique to teach grammar.  He always used black board to illustrate grammar rules. How laborious and dedicated he was towards his profession.  Now I realise that Iqram Sir never thought himself as salaried employee of school, he always kept his responsibilities on overriding status.  He knows the every rule, clause and conditions of translation. At that time electricity was not available in school.  He used to teach us in the dull lights of lantern during night extra classes.   He was encyclopedia of English grammar.  I could grasp the studies more easily after I got boost from Iqram Sir.  But it was my unfortunate that I couldn’t gain more knowledge from him.  From class 9th onwards I had to study in different school and I missed him.

Time span went slowly and steadily.  Later I got a job, retired and resettled but the spark of English I got from Iqram Sir, helped me a lot during my entire career and will always be. Presently, I am a Content Writer in E-commerce sector and earning my livelihood but the major credit of my skills goes to Iqram Sir.  Recently, I heard that he is not feeling well.  This is my heartiest prayer from almighty Allah to bless him with good heath and prosperity.  I also pray for another such dedicated and well polished English teacher for my school to enlighten the lives of students.

At last but not the least, I would like to request my classmates Mr. Ramji, Mr. Devlal, Mr. Musharraf, Mr. Nisar Ahmad, Mr. Uzair Ahmad Mr. Salig Ram and Mr. Nand Lal etc. to be in touch of Iqram Sir.  His blessings would be priceless for our lives.  May god give a healthy and happy life to Iqram Sir.

Your obedient student,

Feeroz Hasan
